Live Update- SolidWorks Innovation Day 2009 Day 1

Author admin    Category Solidworks Innovation Day

A quick short note to all my friends on the Community -

Today was the first SolidWorks Innovation Day 2009. I am currently in Chennai at the event and it is amazing to see the number of people who have turned up for the event.

The event of course started with a video and some amazing slides on products designed on SolidWorks. I plan to put up some of those products on our Forum. This was followed by an in-depth session on SolidWorks 2010 – New features. Just now during the break the conversation was all around the new features of SolidWorks 2010.

Post the break, I am looking forward to hear the customer presentation. I am sure that would be interesting – the customer, UCAL Fuel System is going to present on Sustainable Design in Automotive Field.

I will post more later… for now I have to rush back in to the conference room.

Cheers

SolidWorks Innovation Day 2009

Author admin    Category Solidworks Innovation Day

innovation-dayI am really excited about the SolidWorks Innovation Day 2009 events which will take place across 16 cities in India, with almost 21 events in all through September to October. There are so many new and exciting updates to the software, which I know will be well appreciated by you all. Please do make time and attend one of the events in your city, believe me you will not regret your decision.

Now let me tell you a bit more on Innovation Day. It has traditionally been an annual event where along with the launch of the latest release of the software, the event becomes a platform for the SolidWorks community to network and interact with peers as well as experts. I am not sure if many of you know this – but this is the 18th release of the SolidWorks software in a span of 14years and the community of users today is about 1 million across the globe.

This year the Theme of the event is Design for Sustainability – I think all of us are aware the importance of the environment and more so a designer who has to constantly keep in mind the environmental impact that his/ her design will have. The SolidWorks Sustainability software will help users assess the environmental impact of a design in four key categories. To know more on Green and Sustainable Designs, attend the session on Design for Sustainability and Green Design Using SolidWorks 2010.

Of course at the event will be an in-depth session on What’s New in SolidWorks 2010, one of the most popular sessions every year. This year we will also have sessions on Design Validation (SolidWorks Simulation) and on Manage Collaborate and Publishing your Designs with SolidWorks 2010 (SolidWorks PDM. 3DVIA). The event also has some of our Partners like HP and AMD participating.

This year I am looking forward to meeting you all at these events. Please do go and register yourself for the event and have a great time meeting with like-minded people.

Cheers
